This Privacy Policy explains how the Campaign to Elect Aaron Gorlick ("the Campaign," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with gorlick-for-mayor-2026.webflow.io (the "Site"). Aaron Gorlick is a candidate for Mayor of Woodstock, Ontario in the 2026 municipal election. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We collect information in a few ways:
Information you provide directly. If you submit a comment through the "What's on your mind?" feedback form, we collect the text you enter. If you make a donation, contact the campaign, or sign up for updates (where those features are available on the Site), we collect the information you provide to complete that action — which may include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, donation amount, and payment details.
Payment information. Donations are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you donate, your payment card details are sent directly to and handled by Stripe under its own privacy policy and security standards; we do not receive or store your full card number. We do receive donor information necessary to process and record the contribution, such as your name, email address, mailing address, and the amount donated.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site may automatically log technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring pages, and general usage data. This information is collected through our website host (Webflow) and Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-detection tool we use to protect the feedback form from spam and automated abuse.
Cookies and similar technologies. The Site's font provider (Adobe Fonts) and bot-protection tool (Cloudflare Turnstile) may set limited technical cookies or use similar technologies as part of delivering those services. We do not currently use the Site to run advertising or analytics tracking (such as Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel). If that changes, we will update this policy accordingly.
We use the information we collect to:
Process and record donations, and issue any required donation receipts or acknowledgments;Respond to questions, comments, and feedback submitted through the Site;Communicate with supporters and donors about the campaign, where you have provided contact information for that purpose;Understand which issues matter to Woodstock residents, to help inform the campaign's platform;Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site, including preventing spam and abuse; andComply with our legal obligations as a registered municipal candidate.
Ontario's Municipal Elections Act, 1996 requires municipal candidates to keep records of campaign contributions and to file a financial statement with the City Clerk after the election. Depending on the contribution amount, this may require the candidate to publicly disclose a contributor's name and address as part of that legally mandated filing. By making a donation, you acknowledge that some of your information may be disclosed as required by applicable municipal election law, separately from how we otherwise use or share information under this policy.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
Service providers who help us run the Site and process donations on our behalf, currently including Stripe (payment processing), Webflow (website hosting and form submissions), Cloudflare (bot protection), and Adobe (font delivery). These providers only receive the information needed to perform their function and are subject to their own privacy policies.Government bodies or election authorities, where required for campaign finance disclosure or other legal compliance (see Section 3).Legal or safety purposes, if we believe disclosure is required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Campaign, our supporters, or others.
We do not use your information for third-party advertising purposes.
The Site links to third-party websites we do not control, including a secure online voting portal (currently woodstock.voterservices.ca) and social media platforms. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies before providing any information to them.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including any period required to meet our municipal campaign finance record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, and we rely on the security measures of our service providers (including Stripe's PCI-compliant payment processing). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You may contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to request that we correct or delete it, or to opt out of further communications from the campaign, subject to any information we are legally required to retain (see Section 3).
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including as the Site adds new features (such as a contact form, newsletter sign-up, or additional donation options). The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
